Usage-based pricing does appear to contribute to NRR performance, with excellent and good NRR performance (20%) higher than neutral or nega琀椀ve NRR performance (16%). The use of tokens performs very well, but this re昀氀ects the growth stage of AI applica琀椀ons and should not be interpreted as companies needing to add a per-token pricing metric, even for their genera琀椀ve AI innova琀椀ons. A good pricing metric tracks the economic value provided. This is why per ac琀椀ve user, usage- based pricing and transac琀椀onal pricing metrics tend to outperform other metrics.
